YOUR NATURAL FOOD COACH NEWSLETTER~ April 09
Or maybe that should be daze?!?!?!
Regardless, I am pondering it as a title for a new book. What do you think?
Catchy? Intriguing? Did I captivate you?
As” infomercial” as it may sound, I think I may have found it. Or, at least, a part of the puzzle.
But first, let me share real quick what I’ve been up to and how I need more hours in my day.
Your Natural Food Coach is having a big awkward growth spurt.
Yes, I feel like I’m 13 again.
If you’ve popped by the blog lately you will notice a change. Its been gutted. A lot of soul searching (actually it didn’t take too much time at all)
I realized a self-indulgent blog about my crazy life would interest no one.
It’s just not that interesting.
So besides some glichy layout changes, it is really now YOUR Natural Food Coach. It is being redesigned into something that you can contribute to and grow from.
I absolutely invite you all to pop by, read and share. There are many of you out there in the medical profession; your opinions are very appreciated.
There are many moms and grammas who have home remedies that work, please share them.
Many of you are walking the road out of sickness and disease. Let us walk with you.
Also, to take a moment, I want to THANK YOU all so much for the awesome response to my questionnaire. Yes, I have learned my lesson and it will not be so long next time!
But if you still want your say, Yes! Please! Still submit them.
I would love to know your thoughts!
It helps me create a site useful for you!
Now zip past the blog and Ta DaH... Pop over to www.naturalfoodcoach.com and take a look.
Still some fine touches to put on but much better don’t ya think?
Phew, she says as she wipes her brow…. All in one month!
Now please bear with me, and remember all these changes are not so simple (as I am learning the hard way) they take hours of screaming at the computer screen for not doing what its told and reading my mind.
I mean REALLY!
Who would have thought that adding one little email gadget would take 3 days!!
Anyone who works with computers, raise your hand…
Which brings me back to my book title. “How I found more hours in my day.”
I’m a single mom. I work full time and take nutrition clients on the side. Somewhere inbetween 2 teenage girls updating their FACEBOOK and a boy who needs to practice his spelling words, I sneak on the computer and try to save the world one colon at a time with 4 blogs and one site.
When I’m not blathering on a blog, I am meathodically extracting the 3 books lodged in my cranium. All inbetween the laundry, dishes, car-pooling to volleyball practice, yard work, mass appliance breakdowns, da, da,da, do, do, do...
I spend a lot of nights close to tears. I don’t say this to play on your pity, because I know your world looks very much the same, if not worse.
But I found a secret. And that, my dears, is what I want to impart to you.
A secret discovery from my crazy world to yours.
A miracle that’s LESS THAN TEN DOLLARS AT THE GROCERY STORE!!!
¨ Gingerroot,
¨ Baking Soda
¨ Apple Cider Vinegar.
¨ Epsom Salts
Fill a bath with hot water, and add. No measurements just pour. The more the better.
WAIT~ Don’t laugh just yet!
This is the absolute truth. On the days when I did not take the time and make myself a hot sweaty bath, are the days I train-wrecked.
It seems that in those baths, magic happens.
I slow down. I pray. I sing. I take time to let the God of the Universe readjusts my priorities and my stinkin thinkin.
I take the time to seek first the things that matter, and lay myself, my agenda, to the side.
It is in those very Holy 20 minutes, everything in the spirit around me changes. Creative thoughts begin to flow. Peace settles. The panic leaves. I get filled with a love of life that does not come from me.
I emerge from my watery sanctuary refocused and on fire.
Its amazing, night after night, things flow smoothly.
I have seen more pieces of the puzzle fall into place quickly when I take the time to be still.
What was once striving becomes effortless.
So take that for what its worth.
I know, for me, it has added up to countless hours of prosperous production!
It’s more wonderful proof of the ageless spiritual principal of “sowing and reaping”.
It goes contrary to all our natural understanding but if you need time you sow time! It works.
Please have my blessings to forward this to whomever may be on your heart.

Reminiscing Another Year
Written January 21, 2008

I am so thankful to have spoken into so many of your lives the past 12 months.
Bumping out my 2009New Years resolutions/regrets/fears brought my heart back to this .
God give us eyes to truly see how we have grown for the better.

You will be taken off with my deepest apologizes. Rest assured your name would never be shared with any other mailing list.
For all you who have managed to drudge to the end of this, thank you, and I appreciate your feedback.
Especially regarding the graphics and load up time, etc…
I will try to keep the length pleasurable.
It is my heart to encourage you, focus you and challenge you. (All in under 300 words! YES!!! A challenge for me)
After all, if you don’t take care of your body, where are you going to live?
So without more words… here we go…
It seems we have yet another day of importance to add to our already busy calendars… the dreaded Blue Monday
According to a mathematical equation first devised by Dr Cliff Arnall, former lecturer at Cardiff University, Blue Monday marks the start of the final full week in January when people experience a series of combined depressive effects.
The equation calculates that the third Monday of the New Year, this year January 21, is officially the worst day of the year.
The Christmas glow has faded away, New Year’s resolutions have been broken, cold winter weather has set in and credit card bills will be landing on doormats across the land - whilst the January pay-check is still one week away
People hit an all time high in feeling the lows.
I was made uncomfortably aware of my Blue Monday.
I seem to have met every qualifier, from the bills to the broken resolutions.
And although, my nature is more the “pull the covers up over your head and deal with it tomorrow” type, something rose up in me tonight that reminded me that the things I want, I must go get.
I, and no one else.
Folks, lets not forget, all things are within our reach.
What ever you see in your spirit, whatever dreams are in your heart, regardless of what color your Monday was, get yourself back up and go.
You can do this…
Whether we are losing weight, rebuilding health, pursuing a new career or just trying to organize the house….
You will conquer this.
You are victorious.
There was nothing magical about January 1st!
Don’t buy the lie that if you didn’t keep your commitment and resolution, that bus is not coming your way for another 364 days.
And all we can do now is sit on the curb and wait.
All you need is dwelling inside in this moment.
Let that still small voice rise up, bring His peace upon you, refocus and regroup.
The key is in consistency.
Consistent- KEY!!
Step by step. We will walk this path, folks.
Where ever it is taking you.
Take one more deep breath…
Set your sights on the finish line. You will arrive.
We may have had a blue Monday, but thank God the mercies are new every Tuesday.
Blessings,
Jo

NATURAL PATH NEWSLETTER NOV/DEC 08
Four weeks and it shows no sign of stopping.
It has been an absolute whirlwind of a month.
A funeral, an engagement: a mourning, a celebration, and everything inbetween.
Days have been speeding past: sleep has been sporadic.
There have been high-end break-downs and emotional melt-downs.
Deadlines screaming.
The “to do” list is growing exponentially
And now the holidays are here on top of it all.
The rushing, the eating, the smiling, small-talking and mingling.
Can I come up for air, yet?
Has this been your story?
Maybe even just a little roughly chiseled chunk out of your life once upon a time?
It happens, it will happen…
Life as you know it, totally unforeseen, completely unexpected sweers violently this way and that.
You saw no seatbelt sign flashing.
Would somebody stop this train!!
Stress! Getting thru it will happen, the roller coaster will stop.
The question is how will you look at the other end?
DISCLAIMER: Remember, I am a food coach, I talk in food.
It is my personal drug of choice so it is also the most effective teaching tool God uses for me.
If you have a different type of measuring stick in your life, this still applies.
If I have been able to put a few thoughts coherently together in this recent blur it is this:
Hanging on to get thru.
Rule Number One~ Believe you will get thru.
The ride will end.
YES! I SAID IT WILL END!
The night is always darkest before the dawn and the ride will end.
You are an overcomer and overcomers have to come over things. No other way to get that title as far as I can see.
Rule Number Two~ be on your side. You have to be your own best friend
Yup, give yourself grace. I don’t think anyone has higher standard for themselves than me.
But if I’m not making my mark in unusual circumstances maybe, just maybe, it’s ok to cut myself some slack.
Didja cheesecake at the company Christmas party? Let it go, and stop kicking yourself (yes, you know who you are…)
If God can give me grace, I best learn how to give myself grace.
Number Three~ Remember there is a time for your dreams.
Keep dreaming. It keeps you breathing.
There is always a “further up and further in” and even if there is no strength right now,
Keep that picture in your heart. It will fuel its own fire.
Without vision we perish. Period. See yourself out of your “now”.
Four~ Take “you” time. In the comings and the goings; the deadlines; the “have too’s” find YOU.
Get alone with You. Everything else, no matter how “in your face” it is, has to go to the side. Find a way. Do not neglect you.
You need to do constant, thorough check-ups on yourself. How are you REALLY? No time for martyrs here. Do not give yourself up for “the cause”. If you need critical care, give it to yourself.
Finally, rule Five if you are in a state of unexpected and out of control bedlam~
Remember rule Two about being your own best friend? Yes, best friend’s love unconditionally. Yes, best friends give grace. But best friends also know when to kick your keester. A cheesecake Christmas may be forgivable. But if it keeps up until March, we gotta problem. (Please, feel free to substitute “cheesecake” for whichever personal comfort you may use~ remember, I talk in “food”)
Don’t stay in your train wreck. Love yourself more than that. You wouldn’t let anyone else you love stay there.
It maybe all you know right at this moment, but right now is temporary.
It is passing. January is coming. The time when the dreams take flight.
Very Merry Christmas.
Always remember Jesus is the Reason for the Season.2008-05-12
